Toxin
A toxin may be any substance deemed to be harmful to a bio-organism including humans. Chemically speaking, a toxin may be a poison, a drug, another organism (such as a parasite), an environmental pollutant, or even an allergen. Most commonly in diet and nutrition, a toxin is usually used as a term to describe heavy metals such as lead, mercury or environmental, chemical and bacterial toxins.
